To Configure Volume Discounts (Product Scales):

  2. Select the row that represents an existing Sliding Scale; OR,

  3. Click the ‘Add’ button to add a new Sliding Scale.

    1. The ‘Add / Edit Sliding Scale’ dialog will open.

  4. Click the ‘Save’ button to save the Sliding Scale and begin adding Sliding Scale Ranges.

    1. The ‘Sliding Scale Range’ section appears under the list of Sliding Scales.

  5. Edit an existing Sliding Scale Range; OR,

  6. Click the ‘Add’ button to add a new Sliding Scale Range.

    1. The Sliding Scale Ranges must be contiguous, and cannot overlap.

    2. From top to bottom, the Sliding Scale Ranges must be listed in sequence from smallest to largest.

    3. Specify the ‘High’ dollar amount to define the Total Price range to which the ‘Multiplier’ will be applied.

    4. The ‘High’ amount will define the ‘Low’ amount for the next Sliding Scale Range in the list.

    5. Specify the ‘Multiplier’ to be applied to the Sliding Scale Range.

      1. For example, to apply a 5% discount rate, specify a Multiplier of 1 minus the discount rate, or 0.95.

    6. For the last Sliding Scale Range, specify a large ‘High’ amount so that the ‘Multiplier’ is applied to the remainder of the Total Price.

  7. Specify a Unit Price and Bill Quantity, then click the ‘Recalculate Scale’ button to test the Sliding Scale Range.

  8. The new Discounted Price will be displayed below the list of Sliding Scale Ranges.

  9. Click the ‘Save’ button to save the Sliding Scale Range.

How Sliding Scales are Applied:

  1. The Pre-tax Product Price is divided segmented by the 'Sliding Scale Ranges'.

  2. To each Sliding Scale Range, the 'Multiplier' is applied to determine the Discounted Sliding Scale RangesAmounts.

  3. The sum of the Discounted Sliding Scale RangesAmounts is subtracted from the Pre-tax Product Price to determine the Product Sliding Scale Discount Credit AdjustmentPrice.
