Cell Phone Carrier Setup Tab
This tab is where you set up cell phone carriers for employees who want to receive notices via SMS. In order for VetView’s API to send these to the correct gateway, you must link the employee’s user account to a specific carrier.
This tab was the Cell Phone Carrier Setup Screen in VetView 4.1 and earlier.

VetView does not support SMS messaging for clients. This feature is currently only for employees who want to receive text notifications instead of internal VetView mail messages. |
Add Cell Phone Carrier
To add a new carrier to the system, click on the Add button.

The Add/Edit Cell Carrier window will open so you can add the new cell carrier to the system. For example, if a local cable company is now offering cell phone service, you can add them as a supported SMS carrier this way.

Edit Cell Phone Carrier
To make changes to an existing cell phone carrier, such as if they are updating their external Gateway Address for SMS, select a row and click on the Edit button. The Add/Edit Cell Carrier window will open so you can make the appropriate changes.

Delete Cell Phone Carrier
If a cell carrier is going out of business or will no longer be available for SMS, you can delete it from the system entirely.
It will be removed from all users in the system, as it is not a required field for employee setup.

Merge Cell Phone Carriers
If you ever need to merge two cell phone carriers, you can have the system automatically assign the new combined carrier to any users with the old accounts.
A real world example of this was when T-Mobile bought out Metro PCS.
Click on the Merge button to open the Merge Dialog box, and choose the old carrier and new carrier.
The system will change all accounts to the new carrier.
