Fill Info Setup Tab

The Fill Info Setup tab contains several text settings that you can customize within VetView.  

These include the custom Drug Info Sheets and Auxilliary Labels (pulled in to Product settings and Generic settings), the Patient Status Codes on prescriptions, and prescription Quick Text shortcuts for any internally used pharmacist shorthand.

This page is where you can add in Drug Info Sheets and Auxiliary Labels for your prescriptions.

The Drug Info Sheet is the insert that will be printed out with the label to go home with the client.  While they should always be attached to the relevant generic or product, the actual printing of them is optional in product setup and at the point of fill.  

Auxiliary labels are the optional tags that can be placed on the packaging, with the option to print them directly on the prescription label both on product setup or at the point of fill.

Auxiliary Labels are intended to be used in conjunction with standard pharmacy warning labels (stickers.)  To comply with some state laws, and to provide an alternative in case your pharmacy is out of the stickers, these can also be printed on the prescription label. 


Click on Add to create a new sheet or label.  A small window will open.

Add or Edit an Auxiliary Label

Select Label from the drop down menu for Type.

The Name is the key word by which you will be able to search for the label or the drug sheet. 

The Value of a Label should match the physical sticker that you will place on the external packaging.

Click on the Save button to add the label to the system.

Add or Edit a Drug Info Sheet

Select Sheet from the drop down menu for Type.

Add the name of the specific drug or generic family for which this info sheet should be available.  (They will need to be manually attached under the Generic Info or specific products as applicable.)

The text in the Value field should be the drug info directly from the manufacturer that would normally be included in the original packaging.  Many manufacturers have this information available online, making it easy to copy and paste. 

If the Value field is too short, you can expand it by grabbing the bottom right corner and dragging it until you have a more comfortable display of the data.

Note

The option of whether to include the label or drug info sheet by default is set up at the generic level or the product level, not at the point of creation on this tab. 


Patient Status Codes Setup

The Patient Status Codes are the sort order on your Pharmacy Queue.  The student or clinician will set this at the point of request, and include any pertinent information (e.g. for Going Home, a time of 3:00 PM may be manually entered as the comment.)

These can also be color coded to help you visualize them on your queue.

Use the Move Up / Move Down buttons to control which ones are displayed at the top of your pharmacy queue.

Note that the prescription status  (Requested, Approved, In Process, Filled, etc) is different from the Patient Status, and the prescription statuses are hard coded and cannot be changed.

Add New Status

Click on the Add button to add a new status.  A small window will open.

Enter in the name of the status.

The Default Flag can only be set for one status for each of the Prescription Types and it is what will automatically fill in when that prescription type is selected.

A clinician can override the type to a different one.

The Prescription Type can also act as a filter.  For example, a Chemotherapy status should only be available for In Hospital Use patients.   Conversely, a Mail Order status would always be a Go Home.  You can also have it available to both Types, such as an ASAP/Stat (which should take priority regardless of whether the patient is staying in the hospital or going home.)

Click on the Save button to apply the changes.

Prescription Quick Texts Setup

If you have clinicians who learned to write prescriptions with common short hand terms, the Prescription Quick Texts allows you to assign these common shortcuts over to the expanded definition associated with them.

This will prevent your pharmacy staff from having to manually rewrite these instructions on every prescription.

To add a new shorthand text, click on Add and enter the value that is used by your clinicians as well as the correct interpretation of that value.

Another method of preventing confusing is to help your clinicians set up the most commonly prescribed courses of drugs as Drug Profiles on the product setup page.  The shorthand texts will also be read and translated on the profiles.   Inactive Quick Texts will not be picked up by the profiles or by the prescriptions requests.
