Product Scales

Overview

  1. Product Scales can now be defined for one of the following Basis:
    1. Amount: The Discount Adjustment will be based on the Invoice Price of the Product or Service.
    2. Quantity: The Discount Adjustment will be based on the total Quantity of a Product or Service.
    3. Rx Days Supplied: The Discount Adjustment will be based on the Rx Days Supplied for a Prescription.
  2. Product Scales are now assigned a Credit Adjustment Code and Reason, to be used for the Discount Adjustment resulting from the application of the scale when a Product or Service is purchased.

Functionality

 Product Scale Setup...

Product Scale Setup:

  1. Navigate to the 'Product Setup' screen via the 'Navigation Menu'.
  2. Navigate to the 'Picklist Setup' tab.
    1. Select an existing, or create a new, Product Scale by clicking the 'Add' or 'Edit' button.
    2. The 'Add / Edit Product Scale' dialog will appear.
  3. Select a 'Product Scale Basis'.
    1. An enumerated value that defines the Discount Basis of a Discount Range or Product Scale.
      1. Amount - The Stepped Discount Range is based on the total dollar amount of the Product.
      2. Quantity - The Stepped Discount Range is based on the Sales Quantity.
      3. Prescription Days Supply (Rx Days Supply) - The Stepped Discount Range is based on the 'Days Supply' of a Product on a Prescription.
  4. Select the 'Credit Adjustment Code' and 'Credit Adjustment Reason'.
    1. When a Product Scale Discount Credit Adjustment is automatically posted to a charge, this is the Adjustment Code and Reason that will be used.
  5. Click the 'Save' button to save the Product Scale.
    1. The 'Add / Edit Product Scale' dialog will close.
  6. In the 'Product Scale Range' section, for the selected Product Scale:
    1. Enter the 'High Amount'.
      1. The 'Low Amount' will begin with zero.  It is auto-populated for each row with the High Amount of the previous row, plus 0.01.
    2. Enter the 'Multiplier'.
      1. The Multiplier will be applied to the 'Amount Range'.  Based on the 'Product Scale Basis', the 'Amount Range' applies to either the Dollar Amount, Quantity, or Days Supply, of the Product.
  7. Use the 'Recalculate Scale' button to preview the affect the Product Scale will have on a particular Sales Unit Price and Bill Quantity, or Rx Days Supplied.

  • Use the controls at the top of the table to change the sort, grouping, and row height.
  • To see more of the cell content, click on the cell expansion control located at the top-right corner of a selected cell.
