Supported Roles
The Pharmacy pages are integrated into the EHR and touch many other parts of the system. As such, you should give careful consideration to who has which pharmacy privileges throughout your hospital. The following are the most common roles needed within a pharmacy, and which privileges you will need to assign to the role for them to perform the expected functions.
- Chief Pharmacist
- Pharmacy Technician / Staff
- Faculty Access
- Senior Vet Students (Clinical Rotations)
Other standard Hospital roles such as your Clinicians/DVMs, Cashiers, Accountants, Client Coordinators, Systems Administrators, etc. may be granted Pharmacy privileges where necessary in order to fulfill their tasks. For example, you can grant the Client Coordinators the privileges necessary to refill prescriptions, to avoid having to route simple refills through the Pharmacy before they are ready to fill.
This list is not intended as an exhaustive list for your hospital privileges setup. You must have additional roles defined based on your internal organization to access many parts of VetView. This is only a sample of privilege sets that interact with the Pharmacy units.
