How do I block out a whole day?

In addition to blocking out individual time slots on a schedule, you can block out an entire day.

You must be in Day Calendar, Week Calendar, or Week List to block out a whole day.

Right click on the schedule name at the top of the central panel and choose Set Special Day from the menu.

You can add the name of the day if you want something besides "blocked" or add the reason for the block as a comment.  You can also choose a custom color that will appear underlying the entire schedule if desired.

Prevent Scheduling will effectively block out individual time slots on that day, even if the specific time slots are not already blocked out.

These options will appear on the calendar.  The name will be appended to the date on the day column for the schedule, and the custom comment will become the comment of the entire day.  The color will be applied to the entire column for the blocked out day.

How do I block out multiple days at once?

You can set a recurrence on Special Days.  This allows you to block out multiple days all at once.  Click on Set Multiple Days. Select the date range to apply the special days to, and remove any days from the week list that would not be included in the block.

In week view, when there is a mixture of blocked/special days and regular days, the background color and comment will only appear on the special days.

How do I create a special day without blocking appointments?

If you want to create a special day without blocking appointments, you can uncheck Prevent Scheduling and add the special day.

The Special Day options will appear, but appointments can be scheduled as normal. Use this feature for reminders for the staff, such as block changes, or visitors to the department.
