Printer Setup Tab

The Printer Setup Tab is where you define the available network printers for your hospital, and assign them as either Regular printers (8x11 or legal size) or Label Printers (for labwork, pharmacy stickers, etc.)

Once added here, printers become available as defaults in other parts of VetView, such as Pharmacy setup.

Printers must be available via Network discovery on the server that VetView has been installed on. If you do not see the printers you expect to see, contact your hospital IT help desk for troubleshooting the network availability of your printers to the server.

Available Printers

On each side of the tabs is a list of printers that VetView has confirmed are installed and available on your network or local system. Prints that do not appear here but should may be having network issues. Contact your IT help desk if you don't see an expected available printer.

Regular Printer List

The list of printers on the right hand side have been assigned as Regular Printers. To assign a printer, select it from the available computers on the left, and then click on the right facing arrow.

The printer you selected will then be moved to the list of Regular Printers on the right.

Printers in red on the list for Regular Printers and Label Printers were successfully added in the past, but have since been lost to the network and are no longer available for printer. Remove these, or if you believe they should still be available, contact your IT Help desk to troubleshoot why they are no longer available on the network.

To remove a printer that is no longer used, select it from the list of printers on the right, and then click the left facing arrow.

You may receive a warning that users have the printer set as default. If a printer is being retired or replaced, be sure to contact anyone who was in the area where the printer was located to ensure they change their personal default printers from the selected one.

Label printers

Label printers perform the same was as regular printers. Move printers back and forth between the two lists by using the right and left arrows.
