Overview
In VetView, privileges can be grouped into custom roles. Those roles can then be assigned to users. A user may be in multiple roles. The program ships with some pre-defined roles and each role is tied to a specific set of privileges. You can either assign users the default roles defined in the system or create your own.
Navigating to the Role Management screen
To access the Role Management screen, click on “Navigation” option and in the “User Account and Setup Data” section click on the “Role Management” option.
On the Role Management screen, you will find:
Roles Search section where you can search for existing roles by entering the role name and clicking on the Search button.
- A grid displaying all of the existing roles. Double clicking on a role in this grid will redirect you to the “Role Info” page where you can view and edit privileges associated with that role.
- “Add Role” button which allows you to add a new role.
- “Edit” button which allows you to edit an existing role.
- “Duplicate Role” button which allows you to create a copy of an existing role. This is useful when you have to create a new role that is similar to another role.
