General Description

This screen is used to setup test results, which can then be added to tests.  These result fields show up on individual tests on the Result Entry screen.

2SuppressIf this is "Y" then this reference range will not appear on the report.
3Default RangeIf this is selected, this range will be the default range for any results that do not fall into another category.
4ResultThis is where you specify the details pertaining to a range. The range is the number you list
5FlagThe character you enter here, shows up on the report (usually 'H' or 'L' for high/low).
6DisplayIf the result is in the specified range, whatever is put in this field will be listed on the report instead of the actual value.
7RecheckIf the result entered is in this specified range, VetView will prompt the user to ensure he/she entered the correct value.
8Reflex TestIf the result entered is in this specified range, the test entered here will be automatically added to the accession.

Labs Result Setup

The Labs Result Setup screen is where you created and modify the lab results that are used in tests.  A result type can be used in many different tests, so it is possible to create the result once, and then reuse it across tests as long as the result will have the same kinds of answers in any given accession.  

Search Results

At the top of this screen is the Search Results panel.  You can search by result name, result type, or a standard code if one was entered.  The results will output into the list below.

Result Types will display all results of that type, but can also be used in conjunction with a keywordor the standard code to perform the search.

Result TypeDescrption
Any TypeResults of any type that match the Result Name or the Standard Code will appear in the list.
Value ListResults of type Value List will display.  Value Lists are defined under the Value List Setup screen.
PatternResults of type Pattern will display.  Patterns are defined under the Pattern Setup Screen.
NumberResults of type Number will display.  Number is a hard coded type, but you can also include additional symbols in the type.
DateResults of type Date will display.  Date is a had coded data type.
ImageResults of type Image will display.  Image is a hard coded data type.
Rich TextResults of type Rich Text will display.  Rich Text can be used in conjunction with user macros and placeholders to build out a custom paragraph for an accession or test.
TextResults of type (plain) Text will display.  Plain text can be used in conjunction with macros and placeholders. 
SignatureResults of type Signature will display.  This pulls in the user's text signature and signature image where applicable, to sign off on the results.
Report InfoResults of type Report Info will display. This is a block of pre-defined text that can be used to give explanation to results or for formatting in the result output on the test.
Time StampResults of type Time Stamp will display.  Time Stamp is a hard coded data type.

Result List

When you first load this screen, all results in the system will appear in alphabetical order.  In the example below, % as a special symbol is considered "first" in the alphabet, so all results that measure a percentage will appear on the first page.

Use the Search Results to filter out to the specific Results you want to see.

Result Details

Click on the Result Name in the Result List to open the Result Details screen.  Or you can start by creating a new result by clicking on Add Result.  

Add New Result

The first panel of the Result Details screen will load.  

Give the new result a name and a description, and select the appropriate Result Type.  For results that will come from a machine interface via the API,  you can enter in the machine's Interface Test Code to ensure it is appropriately mapped in the system.
