Transaction Log Tab
This tab allows you to search for all inventory related transactions for products or within a specified date range, including adding inventory via Product Setup, updates via Purchase Receiving or Inventory Count, sales or uses during patient visits, or losses such as Waste or Expiration.
Each search option can be used in combination with other search options to filter your list to specifically what you need.

List of Fields and Controls in Search Criteria
Field | Description |
---|---|
Product | Search for the transactions of a specific product. If this is left blank, all products that match the other criteria will be included. |
Inventory Area | Searches for transactions of a specific inventory area. Can be used with or without a Location Filter. |
Location Filter | Limits the transactions of an inventory area to a specific location. |
Expiration Date | Searches for products that have an expiration date in the selected date range. |
Lot | Searches for products with a specific lot number. |
Serial | Searches for products with a specific serial number. |
NDC | Searches for pharmacy products with a specific NDC. |
Mfr | Searches for all products from a specific manufacturer. |
Transaction Date | Limits the search results to the specified date range. |
Transaction Type | Limits the search results to the specified transaction type. |
Search Button | Applies the Search Criteria and loads the list of transactions in the Search Results. |
Reset Search Button | Clears out all the items in the Search Criteria and changes the first Transaction Date field back to the first day of the current month. |

In VetView 3.3 this section allows you to switch between Sales and Stock quantities. In VetView 4.0 this was streamlined to always display sales quantities, as stock quantities can vary over time.

List of Buttons and Columns on the Search Results Section
Button or Column | Description |
---|---|
Print List Button | Opens a PDF report of the list of the matching search items that can be printed. |
View Sales Unit / View Stock Unit Button | (VetView 3.3 only.) Changes the Sales to Stock switches from either the Stock unit to the Sales unit, or the Sales unto to the Stock unit. This option was removed in VetView 4.0 |
Transaction Date column | Displays the date this transaction occurred. |
Transaction Type | Displays the type of transaction on this row. |
Line and Sequence | The line and sequence number of the product on this row. |
Product | The product name and description for the transaction on this row. A mouse over info dot displays additional information about the product from Product Setup. |
Sales to Stock Switch (3.3 only) | Changes the Quantity on this row only from Sales to Stock. This column does not exist in VetView 4.0. |
Quantity | The sales quantity of the product that moved during this transaction. |
Unit Cost | The unit cost of the product in this transaction row. |
Inventory Area | The inventory area associated with this transaction. |
Inventory Location | The inventory location associated with this transaction, if there is one. |
Expiration | The expiration date associated with the product on this transaction row. |
Lot | The lot number associated with the product on this transaction row. |
Serial | The serial number associated with the product on this transaction row. |
NDC | The NDC number associated with the product on this transaction row. |
Manufacturer | The manufacturer associated with the product on this transaction row. |
