The Product Category Setup tab is where you create and edit the product categories. Product lines should be used to group the products into more specific categories, but the product category should be treated as a broad label to sort the product lines into similar groupings. This information can be useful for certain reports, as well as ensuring that accounting and billing is clear and accurate. Product Category Setup ListWhen you first open this tab, the list is displayed. You can sort by the category abbreviation, the description, or whether it is active or inactive. Image Added Add New Product CategoryClick on the Add button to add a new product category. Enter in the category abbreviation and the description, then click on Save. Image Added The new category will be added to the list, and become available on the main product setup tab.
