Product Cap Setup Tab

A Product Cap List is a named list of products that that will not be charged for if an accession orders a product (either by ordering an appropriate test or by directly adding the product to the accession) that is associated with that Cap List.

Use these list to add in any additional tests or non-test products that are already included in a larger charge or using the accession fees.

Search Product Caps

At the top of this screen is a small search window.  This will help if you have a large number of Product Caps in your system.  It searches by keywords in the name, but not the description.

Product Cap List

The Product Cap List is the display of all product caps currently in the system.  After narrowing it down using the search, it will only display items that match your search string.

Add New Product Cap List

To add a new list, click on the Add button.  A small window will appear.  Enter in the name of the new product cap, and the description, then click on the Save button.

Edit Product Cap List

To edit an existing Product Cap list, select the line you want to edit, and then click on the Edit button.  The Edit Product Cap window will appear, and you can make your changes and save it.

If a product cap will no longer be used, it can be set as Inactive in the system.  You can also delete it entirely if it will never be used again in the future.

Delete Product Cap List

To delete an inactive product cap, select the row and click the Delete button.  You will receive a warning window confirming that you want to delete the list.

Note

All products must be removed from the Product Cap List before it can be deleted.  If the product cap is still in use anywhere else in the system, it should also be removed before it can be deleted.

Add Products to Product Cap List

Select the Product Cap List and click on the Add Product button on the Product List that opens on the right panel.

An Add Product smart search box will appear.  Look for the product you want to add by keyword, and then select it from the list.

The product you selected will appear on the list.

Delete Products from List

If a product will no longer be used on a product cap list, select the product from the list and click on the Delete Product button.
