The Labs Result Setup screen is where you created and modify the lab results that are used in tests. A result type can be used in many different tests, so it is possible to create the result once, and then reuse it across tests as long as the result will have the same kinds of answers in any given accession. Search ResultsAt the top of this screen is the Search Results panel. You can search by result name, result type, or a standard code if one was entered. The results will output into the list below. Result Types will display all results of that type, but can also be used in conjunction with a keywordor the standard code to perform the search.
Result ListWhen you first load this screen, all results in the system will appear in alphabetical order. In the example below, % as a special symbol is considered "first" in the alphabet, so all results that measure a percentage will appear on the first page. Use the Search Results to filter out to the specific Results you want to see. Result DetailsClick on the Result Name in the Result List to open the Result Details screen. Or you can start by creating a new result by clicking on Add Result. Add New ResultThe first panel of the Result Details screen will load. Give the new result a name and a description, and select the appropriate Result Type. For results that will come from a machine interface via the API, you can enter in the machine's Interface Test Code to ensure it is appropriately mapped in the system.
Result Type DetailsEach Result Type may call for additional attributes. These are entered on the Result Details once the result has been saved at least once. Value ListThe Value List Result Type pulls in a value list that was previously set up under Value List Setup. Types of Value List also allow you to choose a method (based on Method Setup) or a Unit (based on the common Unit Setup.) Image Added Display Interval will display all the value list internals on the Result Entry alongside this type. Allow Custom Value List Entries will let the user manually enter in a value not on the value list, if something is not an exact match. PatternThe Pattern Result Type pulls in all the available patterns set up under the Pattern Setup screen. Choose the most appropriate from the pattern drop down menu for the result. Image Added NumberThe Number Result Type can either be a single number, or it can use an oeprator symbol. Numbers can be entered by association to DIFF counters for results that should display the counter. Number result types can also use a Method (as defined by Method Setup) or a Unit (as defined under common Unit Setup) like the Value List. Image Added DateThe Date result type is simple and does not have any additional parameters. However, you can have multiple results using the result type of Date, to clarify what type is being called for (date needed, date of procedure, date of admission, etc.) Image Added ImageThe Image result type is simple and does not have any additional parameters. Use the Result Name to clarify the type of image being added. Image Added Rich TextThe Rich Text result type will load a box for text that can be formatted. These result types can also have stored macros to allow for quick loading of the most common answers. Image Added Plain TextThe Text result type does not allow for formatting like the Rich Text box, but does allow for selection of the text box size, and the option to include a choice of a List of Values to select from. Image Added SignatureThe Signature result type pulls in the digital signature of the user whose name is selected from the personnel menu. Image Added Report InfoThe Report Info result type is not a single result type, but a catch-all term for any piece of data that will be pulled in from the accession, the client, or the tests to appear within the result set. These values do not have to be entered by the user, but are used as automatic placeholders within the report.
Image Added Time StampThe Time Stamp result type is similar to the date, but also allows the user to specify the exact time. Image Added Additional Result DetailsBeyond the Result Type and its parameters, there are additional details that can be entered for certain result types. Reference IntervalsFor Number types and other result types where appropriate, you can define the reference intervals for Minimum, Low, High, and Maximum, to ensure that the entered values don't go outside of the expected boundaries. These can be customized on a per species basis when appropriate as well. Image Added Add New reference IntervalClick on the Add button at the bottom of the reference interval tab to add a new interval. A small window will open for you to enter the values. Image Added MacrosMacros are a way of saving and pre-filling blocks of text that are commonly reused within your system. Macros are quickly accessible on the Result Entry screen and can add a large section of text with only a few clicks. Users can store and retrieve these macros directly from the Result Entry screen as well. This section displays all the Macros currently associated with the text field, and allows for management of them if the user is no longer available to manage it themselves. Image Added Add New MacroAt the bottom of the macro list, click on the Add button to create a new macro. A window will open to enter the macro data. Global Macros are available to all users in the system for this result type. Otherwise, the employee must be specified and the macro will only be available to them. Give the macro a name, associate it to All Tests or to a specific test where this result type was used, and enter in the Macro Text. Click on the Save button to add the macro to the system. Image Added Reflex TestsIf the test result is to be associated with a Catalog Item that also has a Reflex Test, the association can be made on this tab. Click on the Add button to select the Lab and Catalog Item to create the association. Image Added Tests that Include this ResultAny tests that currently have this result type will display on the bottom of the screen. Image Added |
