This page provides an overview of the Billing Package products with a video and PowerPoint slide presentation that demonstrate the features and functionality provided on the Product Setup → Package tab.
Features of Billing Packages:
Limited lifespan - Packages have an expiration date.
Group Equivalency - Products within a group can be used interchangeably. The group has a maximum quantity, and package price. The items in the group have an equivalency factor used to determine the maximum quantity for each item in the group.
Discount Price or Discount Rate - The package price is determined by either a discount rate, or discount price, for each package item; or, for the entire package.
Types of Billing Packages:
Time of Service
Expiration date is determined by the discharge date.
May have 'Initial Quantities' that are added to the bill when the package is added.
Products, or groups of products, are explicitly included in the package.
Products, or groups of products, are prepaid, so they represent a liability.
Prepaid
Expiration date is determined by adding the 'Expiration Days' to the date of purchase.
Products, or groups of products, are explicitly included in the package.
Products, or groups of products, are prepaid, so they represent a liability.
Discount
Expiration date is determined by adding the 'Expiration Days' to the date of purchase.
Products within an entire product line, or individual products are offered at a discount to clients who purchase the Billing Package.
Products are not prepaid, so the Discount Package does not represent a liability.
