Overview

  • Provides the ability to view the Package prices, set the Package Adjustments, and print the Billing Package report.

  • Features of the Billing Package:
    • Time of Service Package Price - The sales price of the Time of Service Package.
    • Prepaid Package Price - The sales price of the Prepaid Package.
    • Total Package Price - The sales price of the entire Billing Package, including the 'Unallocated Funds' amount.
    • Unallocated Funds - The difference between the Total Package Price, minus the Time of Service and Prepaid Package prices.
    • Package Adjustments - The credit and debit adjustments that will be used to post the package adjustments created when the order is closed.
    • Billing Package report - A report, that can be viewed and printed, that shows the configuration of the current Billing Package.

About Billing Packages

  • This page provides an overview of the Billing Package products with a video and PowerPoint slide presentation that demonstrate the features and functionality provided on the Product Setup → Package tab.
    • Limited lifespan - Packages have an expiration date.
    • Package Items - The products and services that are included in the package, or offered at a discount.
    • Package Groups - A group of products and services, that are similar in function or purpose, can be grouped such that the products are interchangable, and mutually exclusive.
    • Group Equivalency - Products within a group can be used interchangeably.  The group has a maximum quantity, and package price.  The items in the group have an equivalency factor used to determine the maximum quantity for each item in the group.
    • Discount Price or Discount Rate - The package price is determined by either a discount rate, or discount price, for each package item; or, for the entire package.
    • Package Liability - The sum of the prepaid prices of the Time of Service, and Prepaid, Package Items that haven't been used before the package expires.
    • Types of Billing Packages:
      • Time of Service
        • Expiration date is determined by the discharge date.
        • May have 'Initial Quantities' that are added to the bill when the package is added.
        • Products, or groups of products, are explicitly included in the package.
        • Products, or groups of products, are prepaid, so they represent a liability.
      • Prepaid
        • Expiration date is determined by adding the 'Expiration Days' to the date when the package was added to the order.
        • Products, or groups of products, are explicitly included in the package.
        • Products, or groups of products, are prepaid, so they represent a liability.
      • Discount
        • Expiration date is determined by adding the 'Expiration Days' to the date of purchase.
        • Products within an entire product line, or individual products are offered at a discount to clients who purchase the Billing Package.
        • Products are not prepaid, so the Discount Package does not represent a liability.

Time of Service subtab

  • Provides the ability to view, create, and edit Time of Service Packages.

Prepaid subtab

  • Provides the ability to view, create, and edit Prepaid Packages.

Discounts subtab

  • Provides the ability to view, create, and edit Discount Packages.

Package Item Substitution subtab

  • Provides the ability to replace Billing Package Items with new Products across existing Billing Package definitions, and Liability.

Disclosures subtab

  • Provides the ability to view, edit, add, and inactivate Billing Package Disclosures as attachments to the 'Billing Package' report.

Billing Package report

  • Provides the ability to view and print the Billing Package definition from the Product Info screen, Order Details screen, or Patient Record (refer to the 'Navigation' section below).

    • When displayed from the 'Product Info' screen → 'Package' tab, the report will display the details of the package setup.
    • When displayed from the 'Order Details' screen, the report will display the details of the package that was sold.
    • When displayed from the 'Patient Record' screen → 'Patient Packages' tab, the report will display the package that was sold, and the quantities Used, Expired, Cancelled, and Available.
