VetView Header Navigation

At the top of every screen in VetView, there is a header bar that contains shortcuts to the most frequently used screens in our Hospital system.  This page will explain what each of the shortcuts are in detail.
  1. Hospital to Labs will take you to the home screen of VetView Labs, if you have access to that system
  2. Patient Number Search is a shortcut that will take you directly to a patient's record if you enter in their case number.
  3. Your Name will take you to your User page, where you can adjust certain personal preferences.  The Log Out button will sign you out of VetView.  (Depending on your hospital's settings, you may also automatically time out after a certain length of time.)  The Help button will take you to this Wiki website.
  4. The Home button will load the Home page and any widgets you have set to display.  This is a good place to be in between your patients.
  5. The Admission button loads the Admission Search screen.  If you press the Alt key and click the Admission button at the same time, it will load a New Admission instead of the Search.
  6. The Client button loads the Client Search screen.
  7. The Accounting button will load the Accounting tabs.  This button may not be visible if you do not have basic access to the Accounting system.
  8. The Patient List button will load the patient list with your patients by default.  You can also set this to load your Unit's patients by default instead.
  9. The Schedule button loads the Schedule screen.  This screen should be visible as long as you have a read only privilege at a minimum, but users who are members of a unit and have scheduling rights for that unit may have access to other features.
  10. The Request button loads the Requests screen.  This button may not be visible if you do not have basic access to the Request system.  If you cannot see any Requests, make sure you are a member of at least one Request unit.
  11. The Orders button loads the Order Management Search screen.
  12. The Mail button opens up VetView's internal mail system.  This system is primarily for system notices, but other users can also contact you this way directly.  (Administrators have full access rights to VetView mail, including personal messages.)
  13. The Navigation button opens the full Navigation window, which includes some of the buttons included in the VetView header, but also access to deeper parts of the system which may be locked behind additional privileges.
