The Method Setup screen is where you can add the external lab equipment used for automatic testing, such as PCR machines. You can also specify external labs providing specialized testing for methods you are unable to complete locally.
These methods can then be used on the accessions and results where appropriate. We recommend matching workstation names to method names where appropriate as well, to ensure clarity throughout your lab system.
Method Setup List
When you first load the Method Setup Screen, a list of the existing methods in your system will appear.
Add New Method
Click on the Add New Record button to create a new method.
The Edit Form panel will appear in the lower half of the screen.
Edit Existing Method
Double click on an existing Method to reopen the Edit Form panel. Methods cannot be deleted, to preserve historical data, but if a machine or workstation is being retired, you can set it as inactive to prevent its use in future accessions.
