Overview

  • Provides the ability to create, edit, and inactivate Product Scales.
  • A Product Scale can be associated to products and services in order to apply a 'volume discount' when a large quantity of the product or service is purchased.
  • The Product Scale applies a discount based on the extended invoice price of a product or service that is purchased in quantities greater than 1.
  • Features of the Product Scale:
    • Sliding Scale Range - A range of values that are applied to the extended invoice price of a product or service.  The Product Scale is composed of one, or more, consecutive, and non-overlapping, ranges.
    • Multiplier - Each Sliding Scale Range is given a Multiplier.
      • The Multiplier will be applied to the portion of the extended invoice price as defined by each Sliding Scale Range, starting with the range that is defined by the smallest amounts.
      • If the extended invoice price exceeds the first range, the next range will be evaluated, then on up until the high value of the range is less than the invoice price.
      • The discount applied to each applicable range, and the portion of the last range, is accumulated to determine the final discount.
