The Request Setup tab is where you designate the communications for the episode unit (the one initiating the request), the request unit (the one receiving the request), and other personnel who are involved in the episode.
This allows you to designate only the users who need to be notified as a request processes through its statuses. For example, all personnel on an episode may need to know when a request is complete (such as a patient has been prepped for surgery) but only the requesting DVM may need to know that a request was rejected, and why.
Populate Statuses
If this is a new unit, you can automatically capture the current valid statuses in VetView by clicking on the Populate Statuses button. No communications are automatically added.
Each status can then be individually edited with settings.
When populated, the Request Setup tab will appear like this:
Manually Add Status
To manually add a status instead of auto populating, click on the Add button. The Request Notification Setup window will open.
Click on the Save button to apply change changes.
Field | Description |
---|
Status | The Request status you are adding. Only statuses that are not already on the list will appear. Request statuses are hard coded in VetView. |
Status Color | The color that this request status will appear on the Request screen. Use this to help prioritize your Request list. |
Test Color | The text color that this request status will use on the Request screen. For a dark status background color, a white text is recommended. |
Show Results | This request status should include the Request results, where applicable. |
Message the Following | These users should be notified when a request has been changed to this status. Use this to limit messaging to only the personnel on an episode who need to know about certain status changes. |
Edit a Status
To edit a status that is already displayed, select the line and click on the Edit icon. The Add Status window from above will open, and you can modify the settings.
Delete a Status
To delete the messaging and settings associated with a Request status, select the status you want to delete, and then click on the Delete button. Deleting a Request Setup Status does not alter any data. Since these settings only control the display of the Request screen and the messaging when a status changes, deleting a status does not change historical information. It only impacts requests going forward. Therefore, it is safe to delete a status from Request Setup, and you will not receive a warning asking for verification.
A deleted request status setup can be re-added at any time.
