General Description

The header of the Patient Record displays some information about the patient, some information about the clients designated as Primary Owner and Primary Clinic, and a picture of the patient (if one is uploaded).

1Patient PhotoCheck this box to activate/deactivate the client.
2Patient InfoThis is the unique identifier that is associated with the client. It can be a mix of numbers/letters.
3Primary OwnerThis field is mostly a piece of legacy data. Many institutions put a client's initials in this field. This isn't as relevant now because VetView always displays the full name of a client.
4Primary ClinicChecking this box, indicating that the client is a veterinarian, will open extra data fields only applicable to DVMs.
5Patient Menu

In this version, this drop-down menu contains three options:

  • Edit Patient - Edits the information contained in the Patient info box.
  • Add Alert - Adds an alert to the Alert Bar.
  • Open Episode - Opens a new episode.
6Alert BarThis is where patient alerts display. Hover your mouse over them to read the text of the alert.
