The availability of menu items is controlled by privileges that are assigned to each user, so the 'Navigation Menu' will not look the same for all users.

The 'Hospital Setup' screen will open.

Select the 'Unit', to be configured as an Inventory Area, from the list of Hospital Units.

Setup a Hospital Unit as an Inventory Area

Navigate to the 'Hospital Setup' screen.
Select the 'Hospital' from the drop-down list.
Select the 'Unit Setup' tab.
Select the 'Unit', to be configured as an Inventory Area, from the list of Hospital Units.

Select the 'Unit Details' subtab.

Update the 'Inventory Area' and 'Auto Receive Inventory' options.
Click the 'Save' button.

When the 'Inventory Area' option is checked, the Hospital Unit will appear on the 'Inventory Area' drop-down lists on inventory-related screens.

When the 'Auto Receive Inventory' option is checked, the 'Inventory Transfer Receiving' screen will be bypassed when inventory is transferred to the Inventory Area. When the status of the Inventory Transfer Request Item is updated to 'Transferred', it will be received automatically into the Inventory Area at the 'Default Inventory Location'.

Select an existing location.
Click the 'Edit' button; or,
Click the 'Add' button to add a new location.
Select the 'Default' option for one of the locations.
Click the 'Save' button save your changes.

In order for the location to appear in drop-down lists, the 'Active' option must be checked.

When the 'Default' option is checked, the selected location will be used as the default location when inventory is auto-received. All Inventory Areas that wish to Auto-Receive Inventory must have a 'Default Inventory Location'.

When the 'Hide from Transfer' option is checked, the inventory held in the Inventory Location will not be available on the 'Inventory Transfer' screen.

The Inventory Transfer Receiving functionality is not currently available; therefor, each Hospital Unit that is designated as an Inventory Area, must also be set to 'Auto Receive Inventory'.

Each Inventory Area must also be assigned a 'Default Inventory Location'.
