How do I automatically add priority fees to my accessions?

Priority fees can be set on a per lab basis on Lab Setup > Priority / Accession Fee Setup.  You can define a standard fee charged for all accessions as a percentage or a specific product.  Or you can set a Priority and any associated products fees on the Accession Priorities.

  1.  Create a product that will be the fee charged.  To ensure that this product's purpose is clear, consider naming it the Lab's Name, and then the name of the priority.  For example "Diagnostic Lab STAT fee."
  2. Add the priority on this screen
  3. Associate the fee with the priority.

Note that priorities sent via the Request process in VetView Hospital are limited to ASAP, STAT, and Routine, but any requests sent via a Custom Web App form can have a custom status pulled from your system setup.  Requests added via the standard Accession screen can also have these custom priorities and their fees added based on the priority status.

The Priority fee can also be used to differentiate batch routine charges.  For example, the priority for a batch of COVID-19 tests may be considered Routine, but because the fee associated with them is different from the normal animal health Routine fee, you can differentiate the fee by having a custom priority here.

For more information, see the Lab Priority Setup Tab page in the VetView Lab Admin Guides.
