Hospital CDMs - BD Pyxis

on hold until LIMS-11172: Internal Server 500 on CDM Job InterfacesResolved gets fixed

Job and Interface Settings

Description: CUBEX Web Service interface uses the newer API workflow from CUBEX. This work flow allows VetView to query the CUBEX cloud database for active patients, dispensing records, and also implements patient orders workflows.

Multiple instances of this interface control job can run, allowing you to have a separate job for each CUBEX machine in your hospital network. However, the interface control job can talk to as many different machines as you allow in Hospital Setup.

Job Settings

  • The job execution should be set to run every few minutes, allowing enough time in between to process any incoming results. Between one and three minutes should be sufficient for most data centers.

  • For best results, run this job on a dedicated API server.

  • The error to email address should go to a systems administrator with VetView admin privileges who is able to monitor the messages.

Additional Settings

You will need information for the CUBEX machine that this job will control:

  • The database name that VetView and CUBEX will both access

  • The database username

  • The database password

  • The application key

  • The base URL where the CUBEX api controls can be accessed by VetView

Billing Option

You can allow CUBEX to add charges to any open order for a patient, not necessarily the original order opened for the episode against which the prescription is tracked. This allows for closure of bills for multiple day procedures.

Send Patient Orders

This allows the CUBEX interface to receive a standing prescription from VetView. A clinician or nurse can then dispense quantities against the patient orders until the prescription is exhausted. The whole order can also be filled at once for emergency patients who are being sent home.

Receiving Units

This designates which hospital units are allowed to send prescriptions to this machine. For machines located in a different building, it prevents accidentally requesting a CDM prescription against a machine that is not accessible.

Required Hospital Setup

In addition to the CUBEX controlled drug machine interface, each CUBEX machine should be set up under your hospital Pharmacy Setup.

See Pharmacy Setup> Prescription Setup > CDM Setup for details on how to add your CUBEX machines to VetView. Prescription Setup Tab

Control Drug Machine Log

Both the incoming and outgoing messages are displayed in the Message Log.

You can filter the log by dates, or search for a message by Patient ID.

Charge Message Log

The Charge Message Log is the list of incoming from CUBEX. These messages include the patient name, the product, the quantity, which machine it was sent to, the external transaction number, the CUBEX user, and the status.

Order Status Message Log

This section displays the prescription, episode, and patient status changes included in outgoing messages to CUBEX.
