Portal Setup Guide 3.1

Portal Setup Guide for Version 3.1

This page has been updated to reflect changes made in Portal Setup for version 3.1 of VetView.  Please visit Portal Setup Guide 2.1 for VetView 2.2 or earlier, as well as VetView 3.0.

The VetView Portal is an external website for your lab and hospital clients to view information about their lab test results and referral patients.  If you have external payment processing set up, you can also accept payments on invoices via the portal.

As of Version 3.1, the Portal is controlled using API commands that send information to a job interface on your primary VetView installation.

The Portal in 3.1 has also been upgraded to use the same framework as the main VetView app, ZK, allowing for better integration and more feature support.

VetView Portal Installation

The VetView portals must be installed on their own server, and you will need to work with your university's IT team to ensure that the URL, firewall, and other settings are correct to allow external access.

Link to technical installation TBD

Version 3.1 Changes to Setup

VetView Hospital and VetView Labs are now controlled independently under Hospital Setup and Lab Setup.

Each Lab can also have its own unique portal in version 3.1 to allow better control of which clients have access, and also better management of client access by your client coordinators.

Hospital Portal Setup: Portal Setup Tab (3.1 and later)

Lab Portal Setup:  Lab Portal Setup Tab (3.1)

Portal Setup has been removed from the Common Navigation section and those features included in the individual Hospital and Lab Portal Setup sections.
