Order of recommend setup for new labs

Labs interested in making new inventory should do some offline work before splashing around in VetView. Have a list of websites or item catalogs that they frequently order from on hand for this information.

  1. Offline homework for personnel who do lab product reorders

    1. Who are the vendors I usually order from?

    2. What products does each vendor sell?

    3. Who is the preferred vendor for each product?

    4. What is the order price and quantity for each product?

    5. How much of each product do I have to order from each vendor?

      1. How is this product shipped? Is it different from how we’ll use it -i.e. we order a box of 100 but use them 1 at a time?

      2. Will this be a floor stock product that gets reordered in bulk, or will we eventually want to decrement it on a per test basis?

    6. How is each product stocked in our shelves? Do we order 1 case (order unit) of 10 boxes (stock unit) of 1000 gloves (sales/usage unit)?

    7. Can I order the same product from a different vendor at a different price?

    • We know this part is changing

  • Vendor Setup will have to be next step, not Product setup

  • Product Setup - link products to vendors, and to inventory locations

  • Now you can make your first purchase order

Workflow Questions and Bugs Identified during review sessions

The concept we have on the Inventory Screens themselves - screen to screen flow - should be included on these pages as long as the user has the rights. We have some “Go to product setup” but we should also have “Go To Vendor Setup” in a few other where it’s appropriate.

Also need to discuss the redundancy on right click menus in general. We added too many buttons and they could be simplified for the Labs.

  • Inventory on Hand

    • Product Pop up?

  • Why are right click menus taking us to product setup when we’re already there? Hide this.

  • Why do we have both Edit Inventory and Edit lot/serial/manufacturer? Redundant.

  • Why are right click menus taking us to the transaction log…… when we have a transaction log tab? Is there a difference?

Purchase Order Screen

  • Pick List - add item from picklist results in cannot invoke method error. Need stacktrace@Shauna Corsaro@Cathy Allison

  • Need time stamps visible on the PO log. Important to know when, not just what date

  • PO Receiving - What is the default location? We don’t get to set this in labs.

  • Reciving Without:

    • Hide + Add all items

    • Delivery report is blank – needed save

    • MAJOR: Auto Stock has no inventory locations if they didn’t set up workstations

      • Stocking list is missing

      • Inventory can disappear into a black hole
