Common Setup Data Privileges

The privileges under Common Setup Data refer to specific setup screens that apply to both VetView Labs and VetView Hospital.  Access to these screens should be reserved for administrators, or those with the task of maintaining this information for the hospital.

Common Setup DataTop level access for the Common Setup Data section of Navigation.  The Navigation privilege itself is required to be able to see this, and any of the screens accessed by the privileges below will appear in the Common Setup Data section.Navigation
Address SetupGrants access to the Address Setup screen.  Use this to manage changes to city, state, county, and ZIP/Postal code data.  Address Setup Screen
Employee Type SetupGrants access to the Employee Type Setup screen.  Use this to create custom employee types if they are required for reporting purposes.  Note that these are different from the hard coded Hospital employee types which are used to managed internal features. Employee Type Setup Screen
Employee Status SetupGrants access to the Employee Status Setup screen.  Use this to create custom employee statuses if they are required for reporting purposes. Employee Status Setup Screen
Coding SetupGrants access to the Coding Setup screen.  This is used to manage SNOMED and other diagnostic coding systems.  Diagnosis codes can be grouped into clinical subsets and fully customized.Coding Setup Screen
Cell Carrier SetupGrants access to the Cell Carrier Setup screen.  Use this to add the data necessary to support text message notifications under the User Profile.  Cell Carrier Setup Screen
Localization ScreenGrants access to the Localization screen.  Use this to customize the names of fields and items throughout VetView if your hospital or lab has historically referred to them by other names, or to add additional language support to VetView. Localization Screen
Sex SetupGrants access to the setup screen.  Use this to customize the list of available animal sexes in the system, and also to indicate if one sex is a spay/neuter form of another sex. Sex Setup Screen
Species SetupGrants access to the Species Setup screen.  Use this to customize the list of available species, or to group Exotics together into sub-groups supported by specialty units.  (E.g. Avians - Raptors as their own species group.)Species Setup Screen
Specimen SetupGrants access to the Specimen Setup screen. Use this screen to customize the specimen types and available containers that your hospital units will use as part of the lab request submissions.  Specimen Setup Screen
Portal SetupGrants access to the Portal Setup screen.  Use this screen to customize the public facing client portals for both Labs and Hospital.  Available information can be permitted or hidden separately for Hospital and Labs.Portal setup Screen
System Options Setup Grants access to the System Options screen.  Use this to modify how VetView interfaces with your university or lab's networks.  Access to this page should be limited to the highest level system administrators, as changes made to this page can have unintended consequences. System Options Setup Screen
Unit SetupGrants Access to the Unit Setup screen.  Use this screen to customize the available units of measure throughout both the hospital and labs.  Note that this screen is different from the Hospital Unit Setup screen, which refers to the internal service areas of your hospital.  Unit Setup Screen
