How do I schedule drop offs or pick ups?

How do I schedule a drop off or a pick up appointment?

Pick up and Drop Off appointments can be scheduled just like a regular appointment.  Drag the appointment object over to the Drop off or Pick Up section on the list view, or to the section on the right hand task panel.  If enough information is available, the appointment will automatically add the drop offs and pick ups to the PA.  For week views, you may be prompted to choose the date.   The drop offs and pick ups will load the default time if you have one entered under user preferences, but you can always adjust the time after you create the appointment.

To add a drop off or pick up to an existing regular appointment, you can grab the appointment from the central panel and drag it directly onto the task bar, or to the other sections of the central panel on list view.  

For units that see a patient for the entire day, and not for a specific appointment, you can use the drop off and pick ups independently of the regular appointments. 

How do I see if an appointment already has a drop off or pick up scheduled?

All appointments on the episode can be seen both on the PA Screen and on the patient record (up until the patient has checked in.)

The PA number will also match when viewing the schedule screen directly.

For example, in Week List view, the three appointments for Cerulean (Case number 905) all appear in their respective rows.

How do I schedule a pickup during the Discharge process?

To indicate that the patient is ready to go home but the client is not present and will arrive at a later time, click on Schedule a Pickup while discharging the patient.

  • Schedule a Pickup check box:  Indicates that the patient is ready to go home, but the owner will come get them at a designated time instead
  • Schedule:  What unit this pick up will appear on
  • Date and time:  Defaults to today's date, but allows you to specify what time the owner will be there
  • Description:  Optional field
  • Comment:  Any additional information needed for this appointment
