Price Set Setup

Price Set Setup
The Price Set setup tab lets you define price sets for specific categories of your customers.
This allows you to provide a discount to students and employees or any other type of preferred clients, on all products and services.
Individual products have an override to disable client type discounts, for example on a shipping fee which cannot be reduced.
Add a New Price Set
Click on the Add button to create a new price set.
A window will open with the options for the new price set.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Price Set Name | The name as the price set as it will appear under Product Setup. |
Multiplier | The actual value, in decimels, of the price markup for discounts. For example, you would set a multiplier of 0.9 to give a standard 10% discount. Or a multiplier of 1.5 for products that will be added to bills only on Field Service calls. |
Price Set Product Discounts | This defines how the discount will appear in the credit transaction tables. "Employee Discount" would be an example of tracking it in the Credit tables. "Field Services Charge" would be an example of how it would appear in the Debit tables. |
Edit Existing Price Set
Select the price set you want to edit, and the window will open with the values previously entered.
Change the values you want, and then click on Save.
Add Additional Special Discounts
In addition to a blanket percentage for the Price Set, you can add steeper discounts for particular services or products to that price set. These can also be set for an entire product line (for example, police dogs may get all grooming services at 50% off, or members of a pet food club could get a blanket 10% on all lines for that brand of pet food.)
Select the row, and at the bottom of the screen, the Special Discounts will appear. Click on the Add button to add a new product discount.
A window will appear to detail the special discount.
Add in the specific product or the product line. The unit cost and current unit price will automatically fill in.
Click on the Save button to add the new special discount to the list.
