Product Line Setup

This page allows you to define the broader categories for all of your products.  VetView supports up to one hundred thousand product lines at this time, with a maximum of 5 digits in the Line number.  

Note that Product Lines must be established first, before you can add any individual products to the product line under Product Setup.  

Search for a Product Line

The Product Line search allows for you to jump to a specific line if you know the associated line number, or to search by keyword in the description.

You can also search for active only, inactive only, or both. 

Add a new Product Line

Click on the Add button to add a new product line.  A small window will appear to enter in the line number and a description.

Click on Save to add the new product line.

Edit a Product Line

To make a change to the product line, such as adjusting the number or changing the description, select the line you want to alter and click on the Edit button.

The Edit Form window will appear.

Deactivate a Product Line

While a product line cannot be permanently deleted from VetView, to preserve historical information, you can set a product line that will no longer be used as Inactive by Editing it, and turning off the Active Flag.  You can also add the word "inactive" to the description as helpful information when searching for the product lines in the future.
