Add Inventory for Transfer Request Item

This functionality is new as of version 4.1.

While creating an Inventory Transfer Request, Inventory can be added to the Destination Inventory Area.

In order to have access to Add Inventory Items:

One of the following must apply:

  • While creating an Inventory Transfer Request, if it is discovered that the Actual Inventory Quantity and/or Unique Inventory Attributes are incorrect or missing, the ‘Add Inventory Item’ can be used to make corrections on-the-fly.

  • ‘Reconciliation’ transactions will be created when the Inventory Item is added.


To add an Inventory Item:

  1. Navigate to the ‘Inventory Transfer Request’ screen for a Transfer Request with Status equal to ‘New’.

  2. Right-click the row that represents a Transfer Request Item; OR,

  3. Click the Pancake menu at the right end of the row.

  4. Select the ‘Add Inventory Item’ menu option.

  5. The ‘Add / Modify Inventory’ dialog will open.

  6. The ‘Product’ and ‘Inventory Location’ will be prepopulated by the Transfer Request Item that was selected, but they can be modified.

    1. The 'Inventory Location' drop-down list will be limited to the Inventory Area of the original Transfer Request Item.

  7. Populate the ‘Quantity’, 'Expiration Date', ‘Lot Number’, 'Serial Number', 'NDC', and ‘Manufacturer’ as needed. (Along with the Product and Inventory Location, these five attributes make up the Unique Inventory Attributes)

    1. If the Unique Inventory Attributes of the New Inventory Item match those of Existing Inventory, the New Quantity will be added to the Existing Quantity.

    2. If the Unique Inventory Attributes of the New Inventory Item do not match those of Existing Inventory, a New Inventory Item will be created.

  8. If the small green ‘Plus’ icon appears next to the ‘Manufacturer’ and/or ‘NDC’ field, clicking the icon will populate the field with the Product Default Manufacturer and/or NDC.

  9. Click the ‘Save’ button to save the New Inventory Item, and close the dialog; OR,

  10. Click the ‘Cancel’ button to close the dialog without saving.

  11. After saving, the ‘Inventory Transfer Request’ screen will remain open.

  12. The New Inventory Item has been added to the Request Item.
