VetView 3.0 License System
- Cathy Allison
VetView 3.0 License System
As of Version 3.0 of VetView, a license will be required to access both Labs and Hospital modules.
All existing clients will be granted a license which can be entered to unlock the system immediately after VetView 3.0 is installed.
License Key Entry on First Login
The first time a user logs into VetView 3.0, they will be prompted to enter a valid license.
(This license will have been sent ahead of time to the project manager after they informed VetView of their plans to upgrade to 3.0, or for license renewals, after the most recent payment.)
Add in the license key, and click on the Upload button.
Once uploaded, the license will unlock VetView for all users.
License Section on the System Options page
The key will not display on the License, but VetView will detect the data stored in the key and display the client, modules, expiration date, and Status based on the information in the key.
Renew a License
To renew a license, click on the Upload License Key button, and add the new license. Click on Save.
The new data in the key will update, and display under the license section.
There is a six month grace period for expired licenses.
The Evaluation License expiration date will appear at the bottom of each page of VetView, in the footer. Valid licenses do not display a date.
Missing Modules on License
If you have only paid for a Hospital license or Labs license, this will be detected in the key on the system, and users will be locked out of the missing modules until a new key has been added.
No user data is deleted in this process. A missing module will simply inactivate all privileges associated with the module, and throw an error if a user attempts to access it directly.
It will also hide the button to change from Labs to Hospital, and vice version.
