Hospital Order Search Screen

Hospital Order Search Screen
The Order Search screen allows you to search for previously created orders for hospital patients. Orders that are tied to hospital visits are visible on the patient record, but additional orders can be created for non visit episodes, such as prescription refills or corrected billing, that may not necessarily be linked to a specific episode. These orders can be found using the search screen.
This page only covers the Order Search screen. For additional ways to find patient orders, please see the How to Find an Existing Order page.
Order Search
The Order Search section allows you to search for existing hospital orders using a variety of parameters.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Date | Limits search results to a specific date range. You can leave the second date field empty and search for all orders from the date entered in the first field to present day. |
Order | You can search for an order using its order number. You can find all related orders by omitting the -1 at the end of the number. |
Animal ID | Search for orders based on the patient's name. This should be used in conjunction with other parameters to avoid too many duplicates. |
Case No | Search for orders based on the patient's case number. This should generate unique results for only one patient. |
Client | Search for orders based on the client's first name, last name, or full name. Use in conjunction with the animal ID to find orders for only one specific patient. |
Order Type | Search for orders based on how the order was generated - late charges, standard bills, pharmacy bills, or bills for supplies. This box is multi-select. Note that Order Types are a custom field and you can have additional order types for your hospital's workflow as appropriate. |
Order Status | Search for orders based on status. This box is multi-select. |
Episode Status | Search for orders based on the episode status. This box is multi-select. |
Estimate Exceeded By | This will search for orders on episodes that also have estimates, and display them if the estimate was off by a certain percentage compared to the order. This may be a useful tool for identifying clients whose animal was more seriously ill than suspected, but also for finding flaws in the estimate creation process itself when the procedures and episode occurred as the estimate predicted. |
Species | Searches for orders based on species. |
Breed | Searches for orders based on breed (in conjunction with species.) |
Unit | Searches for orders based on the episode's unit. |
Charge Account # | Searches for orders billed to a direct charge account or third party based on the account number. |
