Labs Pattern Setup
Patterns in VetView are used for cultures, either manually performed or using a machine.
Patterns are a unique Result Type that can be added to tests under the Result Setup screen. When added there, the pattern will be listed under the Results tab on an accession, with any of the selected value list pattern items available to choose.
Patterns List
When you first load this screen, the list of existing Patterns will appear in the left panel.
Add New Pattern
Click on the Add New Pattern button to create a new pattern. A small Edit Pattern window will appear.
Select the Validation List that will be used (pulled in from the more general Value List Setup screen), give the new pattern a name, and a description. Click on the Save button. The validation list is where the available Pattern Items will come from.
The pattern will be added to your list.
Delete Pattern
To delete a pattern, click on the red X next to the pattern name. Note that while not all pattern items have to be deleted, the deleted pattern cannot be used in an active result.
Sort Patterns
Patterns can be moved on this list by using the Up and Down buttons. You can also sort the list back to alphabetical by clicking on the Sort List button.
Add Pattern Items
Click on the Pattern you want to add items to, then click on the New Pattern Item button on the right panel.
A small window will appear. Select the Pattern Item from the value list. If there is a MIC range associated with the selected pattern, enter that as well.
Click on the Save button. The pattern list item will appear on the right panel.
Delete Pattern Items
Click on the red next to a Pattern item to remove it. Pattern items can be removed at any time.
Sort Pattern Items
Move the pattern items on the list by using the Up and Down buttons. In this way, you can have your most common or expected result from the pattern at the top. You can also sort back to alphabetical at any time by clicking on the Sort List button.
