Portal Setup Tab (2.1)

Portal Setup Tab

In version 2.1 of VetView, the Hospital Portal Setup tab was moved to the Hospital Setup screens, as it is no longer as dependent on the settings used in the Labs Portal setup.

(For Portal Setup for versions 2.0 and earlier, please see the old/wiki/spaces/AR/pages/557907974)

Portal Hospital Options

The Portal Hospital Options field set includes a series of toggles that control which sections are available for Hospital clients to view on the Hospital Portal.  It also includes a field for you to enter in custom text instructions for your clients to request access to the portal.

Hospital Display Options

FieldDescription
Hospital Portal EnabledThis flag turns on your Hospital Portal.  If you have both VetView Labs and Hospital installed, you can have your Labs portal turned on independently of the Hospital Portal.
Show Accounting HistoryThis displays the Accounting History page on the client portal, such that clients can view previous invoices and statements.
Show Payment Form on Accounting ScreenIf your hospital uses an external payor system, this will display the form on the Accounting screen.  See the section for External Payment Processor Form Properties to have this set up.  VetView does not have a native payment system - you must have a contract with a third party vendor.
Show Upcoming AppointmentsThis flag will display the upcoming appointments section for clients.  All of their appointments for all associated patients will be included.
Show Patient Recent LabsAllows the portal to display a handful of the most recent lab results from all patients associated with the client.

Show Patient Recent PrescriptionsAllows the portal to display a handful of the most recent prescriptions for all patients associated with the client.

Hospital Portal Registration Instructions

This section allows you to enter in a custom message with instructions for portal registration, such as who to contact if you never receive an email or run into issues during the registration process.

Hospital Email Options

This section allows you to add in the welcome email that will be sent to new portal registrations, as well as the other email settings around this feature.

FieldDescription
Hospital Registration Email To AddressWhen a user submits a new registration request, what email inbox these messages should go to.  VetView recommends having a dedicated email address for this purpose that multiple users can access, to avoid the risk of missing emails if a single user in charge of checking it is not available.
Hospital Email From AddressThe address that should appear in the "from" address for this email, if it is different from the email address in the to address
Portal User Welcome Email SubjectThe subject line of the email that will be sent to new portal registrants.
Portal User Welcome Email BodyThe body of the email that will be sent to new portal registrants.  This text box supports "placeholders" so you can include the user's name and other demographic information in the body of the email.  Click on the document icon with the green dot to open the placeholder window.

External Payment Processor Form Properties

This section allows you to control the Payment Form for your clients to pay using an external payor system,  Contact your payment system tech support for the information that should go into these fields, if you do not already have it available.
