Lab Printer Setup Tab

Print Setup Tab

The Printer Setup section is where you link available network printers to VetView.  You can designate a printer as a Regular printer (8x11, legal, etc.) or a Label Printer (for specimen and accession labels.)

Once added to the network and visible to the system on which VetView is installed, they can be linked on this tab for your lab's use, and then associated with specific reports or users under different setup mechanisms (e.g. your lab's Accession Label printer can be linked to the Accession Label Report under Report Setup.)

Regular Printers

These are printers that are intended to print standard reports on plain paper.

Available Printers are those installed on the server and accessible to the network, but which have not been linked within VetView.  Regular Printers are those printers installed on the server that VetView has been told to print regular reports to.

Use the large Right arrow to move an Available Printer to the Regular Printer list.  If a printer is no longer going to be used, use the large Left arrow to remove it from the Regular Printer list.

Disconnected Printers

Disconnected printers appear in red.  If you have a printer that is red that should not be disconnected, contact your technology help desk to troubleshoot the issue.  If a printer has been moved, its IP address may have changed, causing the red appearance in VetView.

Label Printers

Similar to the Regular printers, the Label Printers are printers installed and available to VetView.

Use the large Right arrow to move a printer from the installed list to the available Label Printer list, and the large Left arrow to move it off the Label printer list.
